Sealcoating

Remove and Replace Asphalt Patching

When asphalt is freshly installed, it has a rich, black color. Over time, asphalt will begin to lose its color leaving your property with a dull, gray surface. The texture of the surface will begin to lose its smooth finish as well. This is the result of gradual decay to the liquid asphalt that is used to bind the pavement during installation. Sealingcoating is a process that can restore the beauty of your surface while having a lasting positive affect on the structural integrity of the asphalt pavement.

Sealcoating your asphalt as part of preventative maintenance can help you achieve the greatest return on you initial investment. The cost of replacing you asphalt far exceeds the cost of applying a sealcoat as recommended.

Service Methods

Pavements to be sealcoated will be cleaned using air blast and sweeping tools to remove the dirt and debris. Areas that are stained and discolored due to fuel and oil drippings will receive additional cleaning. The accumulated surface grime will be scraped and broomed. Note: Areas of severe fuel and oil damage cannot be guaranteed for bonding or color. The only permanent repair of these damaged areas is removal and replacement. One (1) Coat System: Coal tar emulsion meeting Federal Specification RP355e will be blended with latex fortifiers and 3 pounds of "Black Beauty" sand per gallon to increase the durability of the coating, shorten drying time and provide a slip resistant surface. The coating will be applied on the prepared pavement using the Hand Squeegee method. This application method provides a leveling action to fill minor surface voids and defects.
