Patching

Pothole

The various potholes throughout the area will be patched. The potholes will be cleaned to remove loose materials and debris that has accumulated. The prepared hole will then be filled with hot, plant mixed asphalt and compacted. The finished repair will be crowned to allow for settling and compaction under traffic.

Overlay
The failed areas that have been selected for repair will be cleared to remove dirt and loose material. A coating of liquid asphalt emulsion (tack) will be placed to enhance the bonding of the new asphalt. A new wearing course of hot, plant mixed asphalt surface will be installed to a minimum uniform compacted thickness of 1.5". The edges of the overlay will be tapered to the existing pavement to provide as smooth a transition as possible.
Full Depth
The perimeter of the selected area will be sawcut and the failed pavement will be excavated. The existing base material will be regraded and compacted to match the existing asphalt thickness (minimum 3 inches). The new patch will provide a smooth and tight surface finish with the proper drainage.
