A
cold-milling machine will be used to notch the pavement
in transition areas to provide a smooth, neat matching
joint for new pavement installation. This can also be
used along concrete curb and gutter areas, sidewalks or
any surface that needs to be matched with the pavement.
Profiling
The
pavement will be milled down to the proper depth and profile
with a large cold-milling machine to correct drainage
problems. Profiling will also remove any rutting and heaving
leaving a properly drained and smooth surface for subsequent
paving.
Full Depth
Using
a large cold-milling machine the entire existing asphalt
area will be milled out to the stone base and the ground
materials hauled away to be recycled. The stone base will
then be regraded and compacted to provide for proper installation
of a complete asphalt paving course.
